While we don’t know exactly why Future Trunks’ time machine appears when players beat the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot story, we can make an educated guess. The most obvious explanation is that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players will be able to use the time machine to replay older missions or maybe even check out side quests that they missed out on the first time around. It’s also possible that the time machine will be used to fight bosses that players have already defeated, but there’s a reason why that may not be the case.

It’s already been suggested that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players can use the Dragon Balls to fight previously-defeated bosses. This would make using the time machine to do so a little redundant one would think, but again, exact details are unavailable at the time of this writing.

With the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot release date so close, fans shouldn’t have to wait much longer for answers on its endgame. Bandai Namco has been very open when it comes to releasing new information about the upcoming Dragon Ball Z action-RPG, releasing new images and gameplay details on a near-weekly basis. It would be surprising for it to start keeping fans in the dark now, especially when the game is so close to release.

Then again, Bandai Namco may want to keep the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot endgame content a secret, so maybe it will let players discover for themselves what the time machine is for. Of course, players will have to complete all of the Dragon Ball Z sagas to get to the endgame, so it may take some time before they get their answers if that’s the case.

Fans should keep their eyes peeled in the coming weeks for more information on the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot endgame as we get closer to its release date.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot launches on January 17, 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
