RELATED: Dragon Ball Super: Ranking Every God Of Destruction From Weakest To Most Powerful

Sometimes, for the sake of the plot or just to display an example of sheer stupidity, characters will perform actions outside of these comic moments that are so boneheaded that it’s downright frustrating. Keeping this in mind, here are some characters in Dragon Ball that make the worst decisions.

8 Mr. Satan

Hercule has to be one of the most frustrating characters on the show. He buys into the hype surrounding his power so much that he doesn’t realize just how weak he is against Earth’s biggest threats.

So, watching him constantly sabotage his own image by trying to fight threats well out of his power range is pretty annoying at times. Even when his stupidity should ideally destroy his image in front of everyone, he always manages to either weasel out of this responsibility or get some help from someone kind enough to let him maintain his image.

7 Yamcha

Speaking of weak characters, it’s impossible to not talk about Yamcha in this conversation. He’s become notorious for being one of the weakest fighters in the show, yet always places himself in harm’s way when he should maintain a safe distance from most threats in the show.

The manner in which he underestimates a Saibaman and almost gets killed by Cell is proof enough of just how bad he is at thinking things through and sensing danger. It’s easy to see why he was relegated to a joke character in Dragon Ball Super who wasn’t even selected for the Tournament of Power… even though he himself was of the opinion that the team would be begging for him to join sooner or later.

6 Krillin

There are definitely times when Krillin applies his mind and manages to make a situation better. However, this is pretty rare, and Krillin fails to really apply his mind in most instances. The worst instance of this came during the Cell Saga, and fans know exactly what is coming next.

The fact he chose not to destroy Android 18 simply for his own personal feelings is the worst decision he could’ve made. His poor judgment — or lack thereof — led to Cell reaching his true form and almost laying waste to the planet. It was only because of Gohan’s immense powerup that Earth finally stood a chance against this mighty adversary.

5 Gotenks

Goten and Trunks are pretty decent characters who can be forgiven for being stupid since they’re kids. Their individual power levels also weren’t enough to tackle the massive threat of Majin Buu, so it’s not like they needed to get serious anyway… but things changed once the Z Warriors realized that fusing these two gifted children was a great way to fight against this powerful enemy.

So, it’s amazing to see just how arrogant and annoying Gotenks can really get at times. He wastes the majority of his Fusion by either playing games, sleeping, or just constantly undermining his opponent. It’s easy to see why Piccolo gets frustrated at the incompetence of this fused fighter over and over again.

4 Majin Buu

Majin Buu is easily one of the stupidest adversaries the gang has ever fought in Dragon Ball. This enemy only cares about candy and goes so far as to kill people for the same goal, simply because his master ordered him to. The fact that he still committed mass murders even after freeing himself from Babidi’s influence showed just how little thought he put into the things he did.

It makes sense that he formed a bond with Mr. Satan, with both people not exactly being the smartest people around. His good side might’ve endeared himself to audiences over time, but there’s no denying that Majin Buu’s intelligence is easily his weakest strength by a country mile.

3 Gohan

For a person who’s supposed to be a genius, it’s genuinely mind-boggling to see just how many times Gohan has messed up in Dragon Ball. His inability to make up his mind led to countless unnecessary casualties during his fight against Cell. Even after achieving Super Saiyan 2, he let his arrogance control him… although this can still be forgiven due to the surge of emotions brought forth by using this form for the first time.

Then, he proceeds to become an adult who turns into a goofy superhero and outs himself by turning into a Super Saiyan in front of everyone, not realizing that this was a trap, to begin with. Finally, after the world entered an era of peace, he neglected his training and turned into a liability when new threats threatened Earth and the universe. Hopefully, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is exactly what this character needs to be reinvigorated once again.

2 Vegeta

Vegeta is the Prince of all Saiyans and one of the coolest characters on the show. However, there are times when this character is prone to his own moments of incompetence, although these are few and far between.

Perhaps his biggest moment of idiocy came during his fight against Cell when he let this powerful fighter achieve his Perfect form. Aside from this major oversight, there are other times when Vegeta’s arrogance has overruled his sense of judgment, which has led to its fair share of problems across the series.

1 Goku

It was only a matter of time before Goku would be a part of this list. Everyone’s favorite Saiyan is a battle-hardened warrior who definitely has a high battle IQ… but is pretty dumb otherwise. In fact, his lack of intelligence is overplayed quite a bit during the series’ comedic moments, especially in Dragon Ball Super.

Again, Goku’s worst moment of negligence comes during the Cell Saga, when he forces Gohan through a tough battle without understanding his own son. It takes some stern words from Piccolo to help Goku finally see the light… but it’s already too late at this point.
